I haven't made cornflake cakes in forever so I thought I'd take the autumn season as an opportunity to recreate these moreish delights from my old blog, Hearting.co.uk.

Creepy Cornflake Cakes
Equipment
- 2 cupcake trays
- 24 cupcakes cases
- 1 sauce pan
- 1 wooden spoon
Ingredients
- 400 grams milk or dark chocolate
- 200 grams unsalted butter
- 12 tbsp golden syrup
- 300 grams cornflakes
To decorate: smarties and fizzy laces
Instructions
- Lay out 24 cupcakes cases in cupcake trays
- Put the chocolate, butter and golden syrup into a saucepan
- Melt the chocolate, butter and golden syrup over a low heat
- Allow to cool a little then add the cornflakes
- Gently stir the ingredients together using a wooden spoon
- Spoon the mixture into the prepared cupcake cases
- To make spider cornflake cakes add smarties for the eyes and cut the fizzy laces down to size to use them for the legs
